A Thousand and One Books
Judge a book by its recommendation, not by its cover.

About this project
A crowd-sourced travelling library filled with a thousand and one books, each donated by someone who loves that book and thinks that other people might love it too.
Visitors choose from a thousand and one dedications written by donors, but each book’s author, title and cover remains hidden until they take the book out. Once they’re done reading, they pass the book on: give it to a friend, post it to an aunt, leave it on a park bench…
Explore our collection of books and dedications online. Recommendations have come from Jay Rayner, Kate Raworth, Lemn Sissay, Ian McKellan, Chris O’Dowd, Suzanne Moore and many, many more…
